  "method": "Once a day (about 07:17 UTC) SnowDriven fetches WordPress.org’s public PHP version statistics and stores the response as published, one snapshot per UTC day, since 2026-10-12. The figures are percentages of WordPress installs, by PHP branch, among sites that report their PHP version to WordPress.org when they check for updates. Sites that never contact WordPress.org are not counted, WordPress.org does not document how it samples or rounds, and it publishes no site count, so these are shares of reporting installs, not of all websites. A day with no snapshot (the fetch failed, or the response did not look right) is listed under gaps and is never filled in. The derived shares apply the php.net support dates in supportMap to each snapshot’s own day.",
